Hip Pain

Functional hip pain refers to pain experienced during specific movements and activities, but is not associated with a specific diagnosis. As a sports rehab specialist, our approach to these tricky conditions is to find "movement diagnoses" rather than solely focusing on anatomy or pathology.

We take into consideration the entire kinetic chain, from the feet all the way up to the spine, and assess for any imbalances or dysfunctions that may be contributing to the pain. This approach helps us to identify the root cause of the pain and develop a treatment plan that addresses the underlying issue.

In many cases, functional hip pain can be resolved by addressing form and technique during movement. For example, correcting pelvic stability and positioning during squatting, or improving dynamic ankle stability during running, can alleviate pain and prevent reoccurrence. By taking a holistic and evidence-based approach here at Apollo Performance Chiropractic, we can effectively manage functional hip pain and improve outcomes for our patients.
